Tim Martin has been an attorney at Cooney & Conway since 2005. He originally joined Cooney & Conway during the summer of his second year of law school. Mr. Martin handles a variety of cases for clients who have suffered personal injury, illness or death. He has extensive experience in all phases of litigation and in various areas of personal injury law including product liability, construction negligence, premises liability, maritime law and motor vehicle negligence matters. Mr. Martin has represented several types of clients who have been diagnosed with asbestos related diseases, including mesothelioma and lung cancer. Mr. Martin has succeeded in recovering over $100 million in complex personal injury and wrongful death cases on behalf of those injured by the conduct of others.
As an attorney at Cooney & Conway, Mr. Martin has over a decade of experience pursuing claims against manufacturers who knowingly and willfully exposed others to asbestos through their products. He represents clients with various serious and fatal diseases resulting from contact with asbestos, including asbestosis, lung and gastrointestinal cancers and mesothelioma. Mr. Martin has the knowledge and expertise to advocate for the innocent victims of asbestos related illnesses and has demonstrated his ability to recover substantial awards through jury verdicts, settlements, and compensation from asbestos trust funds.
Mr. Martin was born in Boston, Massachusetts. After growing up in Boston, he attended Boston College. Mr. Martin worked for a short time in the construction industry and then began law school at Suffolk University. Mr. Martin is admitted to the Bar in Illinois and is a member of the Federal Bar for the Northern District of Illinois. He is also a member of the American Association for Justice and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association. In addition to his professional associations, Mr. Martin has been acclaimed by his peers as a Rising Star in the fields of mass torts, product liability and personal injury law in Super Lawyers magazine from 2009-2010 and 2014-2018.
Mr. Martin lives in the suburbs of Chicago with his wife and five children. When he is not practicing law, he keeps himself busy playing golf, skiing and coaching youth soccer.
